Intel Anchors Oregon's Economy

Intel’s Oregon operations cover four campuses west of Portland in Washington County and is Intel’s largest concentration of facilities and talent in the world. With a site population of approximately 20,000 at the end of 2017, Intel is the Portland Metro Area’s largest private employer.

Since Intel’s first campus in Aloha in 1974, Intel has helped position Washington County as the center of Oregon’s growing technology industry with a vast network of suppliers and contractors to support operations locally.

In 2017, Intel was name the “Top Corporate Philanthropist” in Oregon and was listed as a “Most Admired Technology & Manufacturing Company”.

Intel donations in Oregon in 2016 totaled $15.6 million. The company is a proud supporter of Oregon education, with more than $5.3 million of donations going to schools and education programs.

Through the Intel Involved Matching Grant Program, the Intel Foundation extends the impact of employees’ volunteerism by donating cash to qualified schools and nonprofit organizations where Intel employees and retirees volunteer 20 hours or more in a year. This resulted in over 312,000 volunteer hours across Oregon in 2016.

Intel has set a goal to restore 100% of our water use globally by 2025.

Intel currently returns 80% of the water we use to our local communities and watersheds. In 2016 Intel conserved over 4.6 billion gallons of water and has invested over $234 million in water conservation programs globally.

Air Quality

Intel has committed to emission reductions and practices continued emission monitoring that is accessible to the public. Intel tests all emissions and shares this information with the public as well.

Green House Gas Emissions

Intel was a pioneer in greenhouse gas emission reduction when we started focusing on this 20 years ago has reduced greenhouse gas emission by 60%. Intel is the largest voluntary purchaser of green power in the United States according to the EPA.
