in-system programmability (ISP) Definition

The capability of devices, such as Intel configuration devices, to be programmed after being mounted on a printed circuit board.

The Intel^® Quartus^® Prime Programmer supports in-system programming via the ByteBlasterMV, Intel^® FPGA Parallel Port Cable, or Intel^® FPGA Download Cable. The Programmer also provides the capability to program multiple devices in a JTAG chain.
