Starting the Intel® Quartus® Prime Software (quartus.exe) From the Command Line

The following options and examples can be used with quartus.exe from the command-line:

Description

quartus -regserver

Fixes system registry corruption or problems running the Intel® Quartus® Prime software by adding entries to the system registry that the Intel® Quartus® Prime software uses during operation. After the command completes successfully, you can start the Intel® Quartus® Prime software. Generally needed only at the time of installation.

quartus -reset_desktop

Resets the default settings for the Intel® Quartus® Prime GUI by restoring default dockable window position settings, toolbar position settings, and toolbar content. After the command completes successfully, you can then start the Intel® Quartus® Prime software. You can also type this command to fix problems relating to registry corruption (for example, if the GUI-relevant Intel® Quartus® Prime registry entries are corrupted).

quartus -h

Starts Intel® Quartus® Prime Help and displays this help topic.

quartus -?

Starts Intel® Quartus® Prime Help and displays this help topic.

quartus -help

Starts the Intel® Quartus® Prime software, then starts Intel® Quartus® Prime Help and displays this help topic.

quartus <file_name>.<extension>

Starts the Intel® Quartus® Prime software and opens the specified file. The Intel® Quartus® Prime software does not support wildcards in file names.

quartus <file_name>.qpf

Launches the Intel® Quartus® Prime software and opens the specified project. The Intel® Quartus® Prime software does not support wildcards in file names.

quartus <file_name>.qar

Launches the Intel® Quartus® Prime software and opens the Restore Archived Project dialog box. The Intel® Quartus® Prime software does not support wildcards in file names.
