Learn more about Intel® Virtual RAID
Can not create RAID configurations when using NVMe SSD drives based on the Intel® Server Boards, for the new Intel® Xeon® Processor Scalable Family.
Old Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise NVMe [Intel® RSTe NVMe] RAID Driver is no longer validated. For Intel® Server Board S2600WF, Intel® Server Board S2600BP and Intel® Server Board S2600ST Product families, in other words, the new NVMe RAID capability is handled by the Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU; click here for more detailed information. Consequently, the new software is now the VROC and RSTe Driver, which can be found on the downloadcenter.intel.com page for each of the boards.
It is important to know that VROC can handle standalone NVMe drives; however, if NVMe RAID is desired, in addition to the aforementioned software, an Intel® VROC Upgrade key is needed (click here for the comparison chart).
