Can I share a single PLL for two ALTMEMPHY instances in my design?

Environment

  • PLL
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

No, you can not share a single PLL for two ALTMEMPHY instances in your design as resynchronization clock and mimic clock can not be shared between two controllers. Only static clocks can be shared between multiple controllers with identical data rate.

Each ALTMEMPHY instance will need a PLL separately. If you have two ALTMEMPHY instances in your design, two PLLs will be utilized.
