Description

Yes, the I/O power models for Stratix® IV and HardCopy® IV device families are different, for the following reasons:

  1. The I/Os are laid out differently between Stratix IV and HardCopy IV device families.
  2. The bank leakage is different between Stratix IV and HardCopy IV device families.
  3. The routing power associated with the I/Os is different between Stratix IV and HardCopy IV device families. Routing power is lower on Hardcopy IV devices.

These differences are accounted for in the Early Power Estimator (EPE) and PowerPlay Power Analyzer estimation tools.
