Why do 9 NC pins change to power pins in the Pin Information for 1ST165 without updated revision history?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Pin Information for the Intel® Stratix®10 1ST165 Device, the revision history was not updated when 9 NC pins were changed to power pins. The revision history has now been updated, dated January 2020.

Device migration will not be successful for the following when solely dependent on outdated Intel 1ST165 pinout file revision history.

    • Migration from 1ST165 to 1ST085/1ST110
    • Migration from 1ST165 to 1ST250/1ST280
    Resolution

If you are not considering device migration, no action is required, NC or VCC can be used.  If you are targeting device migration on the same board, ensure you use the latest pinout by changing 9 NC pins to power pins.
