This way, they can directly integrate into their kiosk system designs, enabling more comprehensive monitoring and control of the peripheral devices.2

Intel offers two specially designed modules that serve as building blocks for interactive kiosks.
The Intel® Smart Kiosk Module (Intel® SKM) is a revolutionary compute module and peripheral interface board (PIB) with high-speed PCIe* connectivity. It has one standard size, regardless of the kiosk design. Its modular design makes it less labor intensive and costly to maintain, upgrade, and service. Supporting multiple workloads on a single device, the Intel® Smart Kios Module (Intel® SKM) makes it easier to scale interactive kiosks across an enterprise, providing for potential cost savings.
The Intel® Smart Display Module (Intel® SDM) is a specification and reference design for all-in-one systems, including kiosks. Intel® Smart Display Module (Intel® SDM) delivers intelligence and interoperability in a small form factor for thin, integrated displays. It’s ideal for fanless designs with smaller I/O requirements.
Intel® NUC for Interactive Kiosks
The Intel® NUC board is a building block for interactive kiosks that offers support for touchscreens and Intel® HD Graphics. This enables vibrant HD video playback for immersive user experiences. The Intel vPro® platform offers additional security and remote management capabilities.
Support for Connectivity and Sensors
With the ability to connect to Wi-Fi or 5G, an interactive kiosk can serve as a hotspot and provide VoIP emergency calling. Intel® technology-based kiosks offer support for these connectivity options.
Intel® processor-based kiosks also support a sensor hub to collect audio, visual, and other data. This allows kiosks to monitor the environment for possible safely issues, like gunshots and alarms, or perform tasks like people counting. Display brightness and fan operation can automatically adjust based on data from temperatures and luminance sensors.
