10.6. Verifying E-Tile Hardware Connections

To verify that the Transceiver channels connect correctly and loop back properly on the hardware follow the steps shown below. This precaution saves time in the workflow.
Use the E-Tile Transceiver Toolkit to send data patterns and receive them correctly:
  1. In the Receiver tab, verify that RX CDR locked to Data turns green.

  2. Start the Hard PRBS generator by clicking Start in the Transmitter tab.

  3. Run Initial Adaptation by clicking Start One-Time in the Receiver tab.

  4. Click Start to enable the Hard PRBS checker in the Receiver tab.

  5. Verify you have RX CDR locked to data, and the Bit error rate is very low or zero in the Receiver tab
